Born in Hartford, Connecticut into a deeply musical family, Doobie is the son of the late great jazz legend Hubert Powell Jr. and powerhouse vocalist Jacquelyn Powell. That foundation helped shape the depth, feel, and musicality that defines his work today without confining his music to any single category.

A Nord Keyboards endorsed artist, Doobie has performed nationally and internationally across jazz clubs, festivals, and concert venues, with a strong history of repeat bookings and sold out rooms in intimate listening environments. His live show is built around expressive keys, soulful vocals, dynamic arrangements, and deep audience connection, creating a full journey rather than a standard set.

As the founder of Chip Off The Block Productions, LLC, Doobie has also built a respected catalog as a creator and collaborator.
